Title: Re: hindu gods and goddesses Post by: Jitendra Hydonus on Jul 16, 2009 05:38 am i am most familiar with Krishna because the Bhagavad gita is the famous story of the fight at Kurukshetra wherein he helped Arjuna gain the courage to fight. Here the metaphorical battle that takes place in our own consciousness was fought. The true meaning of the battle being the battle we must fight with our own minds, our lower nature and the senses to once again regain the divinity we innately possess. This battle was symbolically fought out between the Kauravas and the Pandavas in the Bhagavad Gita.
i have never read little concise descriptions of the great ones that came out of India. It is a good way to get an overview of India's religion and past. Thank You for sharing it with us Lauraa.
