When a planet goes retrograde it appears to go backwards for a while and when it is stationary it slows down stops or pauses and then goes forward again. Its energy is more potent when it comes to a stationary area which will be about July 23rd. It was also slowing down and coming to a stop about the same time in June-late June around the 26th.

The Energy of planet is then  more noticeable. Yet the whole retrograde process can be noticed. It just intensifies when it comes to a stationary area that is: where it slows down stops and then goes forward again.

Mercury will b retrograde for a time. It will b direct on July 23. Does anyone care to disgust   :P it? I have read that people having Virgo or Gemini planets are more sensitive to it.  This is because Mercury shows rulership to these signs. Especially Gemini. I know that Comet has her Sun in Gemini. Starling has her Moon in Virgo.

Mercury goes retrograde approximately 3 times a year. So the areas where you will be most affected are where Gemini and Virgo are prominent in your chart. For instance: I have Gemini on the rise like Starling. So for me my environment has noticably slowed down. I've been getting a trailer fixed that somebody damaged. Another area to notice: People often recognize a shift in their mental process and attituded when Mercury goes retrograde.

Many astrologers say its not a good time to start a new project or new relationship. People change their minds, contracts are redone and there is miscommunication during Mercury retrograde periods. A lot of things that are started are put  on hold.

I've read that Mercury rules such things as travel, cars, buses, all forms of communication, computers, contracts, cell phones telephones,  dexterity, languages, journalists, mental pursuits, news,  news papers, writing and publishing. I have had a lot of problems with the internet and my phone recently. Dropped calls and not being able to get on sites etc.

Mercury is going thru Cancer right now. I read Carol Rushman say that when Mercury stations in Cancer or in the fourth house: the mental energy will be sifted thru the emotions rather then the  intellect, there is a heightened intuition,  creativity is at an all time high,  but over sensitivity must be guarded against.  Family and home projects bring great satisfaction. Crying for no apparent reason and emotional outbreaks are common.

Mercury went direct this week end.communication might seem to be changing. things have taken a different direction for a lot of us.

Mercury has been retrograde since February 6th it will go direct the last day of February. It has really slowed some things down for me but I appreciate the time to meditate, myself and friends.

Hello Spiritimage Mercury going direct is what happens after Mercury has gone retrograde (backwards) stationary (stops) and then direct (forward). At this time things seem to move again. Issues become resolved.

Imagine that you are moving in a forward motion and then you move by an object that is also moving. That object looks like it has moved backwards which is retrograde. If we move far enough from an object it eventually looks like it has slowed down (stationary) in its backward motion. When we have reached a place in the curve where we can see that the object was not really going backwards nor was it slowing down. It was just moving slower than us. At that point we see that the object is moving forward or direct in relation to objects around us. This phenomena also takes place if for instance you are in a train and you pass another train along the way. It is actually an illusion. Yet life is full of illusions. Many of them have a significance and quite literally affect our lives.

Sometimes we meet people like this. They create an illusion or fantasy. We accept the illusion as a reality. Then after a while things slow down.  We try to make sense of what we encountered. We may even be confused. After a while events clear things up and we are able to see more clearer.

When this applies to objects of nature we may call it anthropomorphism. Yet there are forces of nature such as animal totems that hold significant meaning in our lives. Just as symbols in our dreams have meaning so do objects in our so called waking state which is also a dream state to those who our enlightened.

The significance of Mercury's apparent motion is quite evident in our daily lives. When Mercury goes direct it again looks like it is moving forward and the events of our lives pick up again. All types of messages and communication opens up again.

Your question sparked a sympathetic chord in my being because it reminded me of Sri Yukteswar who I admire gratefully.

The sources would be the hundreds of charts that I have worked on and finding the relationship between various phenomena in my personal life and the life of my clients. The creative element that finds such relationships i give credit to the gurus and the techniques of meditation. Retrogradation affects our lives each differently according to our personal karma and response to the conditions presented to us from this release of karma. Observation and making connections between celestial movements and

You follow the teachings of Sri Yukteswar (the guru of Paramahansa Yogananda)  who besides being a towering spiritual magnet was also a genius at astrology. His intuitive insights from his state of consciousness gave him these insights. There are creative insights that I have and share also. Yet Sri Yukteswar opened an understanding of the universe and astrology that is unparalleled in its scope when he gave us the Holy Science. Within the first pages of that book is an explanation of the cyclic procession of time and our place in that grand scheme.

Mercury is stationary today and will go forward tonight and tomorrow. This has the meaning of many people being absorbed in certain ways of contemplation or slowed down until things once again gain momentum tonight.

Mercury has been retrograde since June 7th.  Wonder if any of you have noticed communication has been more difficult? It seems to me that also accidents are more prevelent. It's turned communication in on itself towards much introspection for me.

 Mercury has been retrograde since the end of August.It will not go forward till Thursday the 22nd of September 2016. i have already experienced communication challenges and it does not seem the best time to make plans because others have not always been up to it. Besides even if i did they most likely would change.

i see what u r are saying. Quite often i forego major decisions and plans to fall into the cosmic flow of harmonious energy. There are many other 'malific' influences as well that are better to not challenge till more advantages times occur. Although Merury is notorious for all forms of communication. Yet on a social level between proven friends it often brings introspection and depth to topics and conversation with a better understanding of mental attitudes and a thus a deeper insight because mental thought is slowed down and processed thoroughly.

The license remains is in my car on the dash but it is yours when you want it! i already have a california license on the front saying jai guru and a michigan license on the back saying jaiguru! Mercury has gone direct. It is a better time in general for mail and all forms of communication as well as signing contracts.

This article has multiple facets. The reason it particularly interested   me is that it explains Mercury's  retrograde motion  . It is because the planet actually slows down in its motion to a speed slower then that of earth which gives the planet the appearance  of going backwards in relation to the earth's motion.

It is March 6, 2020 and Mercury is retrograde once again. Perhaps you have noticed. I did today. I could not find something I was looking for... that’s the downside. But there is the upside; I got the back room organized looking for it. Communication has been difficult also and I have been having challenges with auto repairs... all Mercury related issues. But I also had good fortune because I have been re-evaluating my relationships and what has happened in our conversations. Although there has been misunderstandings and differences I have learned how to let go and am becoming more comfortable with watching people come and go in my life... drifting in and out. At any rate you may just see yourself reviewing past attitudes and situations now and see them in a different light.

on tuesday i had a difficult time expressing idea's during a conference call for work. on wednesday and thursday i've had friends try to tell me things they see about me or come at me very boldly with their beliefs and they only wanted to be heard not reciprocated. yesterday while counting inventory at work the system crashed and i had to start a section over, something was rung up wrong and i had to re-enter that and correct peoples clock-in times. last night i was thinking about the girl that triggered my dreams and shared the 888 prompt with. the one i met by the river and felt like we were the same soul. i was still very upset with her and a friend, i don't wish to harbor anger but it's true and i think i realize the reason i was rose-colored vision was because i simply crave an intimate relationship with a spiritually, physically and mentally attractive woman. having felt isolated by the answers from 2008 and sufism dream experience, i also realize i was getting to hung up on the first ray of angel hierarchy and decided to just keep my focus on god. i still think about the girl that causes me grief and anxiety but realize i think i just have a desire for partnership,the grief is my own. oh yeah and my dad was passed out and accidentally left moms soup cooking with the highest setting on the stove top. i got home to a smokey house that smelt like wood fire and was able to turn it off in time.

Eric speaking of grief; I understand your feelings. I have come to the conclusion that we can reach out to people we have known in the past and apologize when it is possible but sometimes people just do not want to see us or hear from us again and they may let us know that... in which case it is better just to let it be and learn to let go; however difficult it may seem. Having touched on this subject on a Mercury retrograde - which also makes us more introspective about past mental attitudes - I think it is better to take the subject up in another thread.

For me it just seems like all communications have been under scrutiny since the beginning of this month both nationally and personally.

Mercury is Retrograde till June 3, 2022. You can see it’s effects right here at the portal with these latest technical issues! And things are still not clear in my life about other issues. Yes everything is seen to slow down or made to slow down with much reflection taking place.

I often wonder … what came first ? The chicken or the egg? So is communication really slowing down and I’m left with many things to fix now because of Mercury retrograde ? Nothing about mercury retrograde has caused any kind of "bad luck" for me. With my latest experience, if I've experienced difficulty communicating I chuckle it up knowing what the heart emits is more important. Yes, sometimes we frame our minds and set ourselves up for undesired experiences based on the expectations we hold onto. I don't worry about mercury retrograde but if I notice I usually recognize the collective mind or energy as prime real estate for introspection, which ends up being completely healthy and positive.  :)

Not sure who you are quoting about “bad luck”. While communication has slowed down and I have encountered technical difficulties I am not considering it bad luck. In fact I am rectifying some electrical and internet challenges. A time of introspection on events and reasons for slow downs when Mercury goes retrograde. Also to revisit some past communication experiences with close ones, recognizing their significance and finding the best way to handle them through communication differences.

An interesting observation. In this case I did not not recognize the retrogradation of Mercury. It was after the facts and conditions that I saw Mercury has been goin retrograde. So setting up the mind for undesired experiences would not apply until perhaps now when i’m aware of the planets corresponding effect on challenges unfolding. But as you see recently I am attempting to address differences where possible.

Mercury has gone direct today and perhaps like me, you have noticed some loosening up on communication and electronic devises. Most participating members have planets and points of interest ( Kelly’s north node; communication about her goals and self expression) at or around 26 degrees (Eric ; his yod) and so should notice it in more then one way mccoy has natal Venus ( for love and socializing ) at about 26 degrees. Mercury is in a good position for Joy as well over her midheaven accentuating her contacts in the world in communication while planning her marriage.

Mercury has been retrograde now for a while. I wonder if anyone else has noticed? I have found no one is getting my emails. And recently a friend even told me I’ve been sending emails to the wrong address. Many people are not responding and I’m wondering if mccoy is ok because we haven’t even seen him on the site recently. Sent several messages to both Art and Eric here. Although, I have noticed is this; Mercury is the planet of communication and when retrograde it denotes a lot of introspection and re evaluation of communication. Even our musical communication here at the portal has recently been about our musical communication with past composers and compositions. A backward look in time, typical of Mercury retrograde. I’ve found that I’m recognizing a lot more ‘communication from the cosmos’ What Eric called a manipulation of reality from higher sources, and our perceptions about this reality are being ‘reflected and re-evaluated’. For instance more 11:11 experiences. I’ve noticed this because of not getting what people here on earth have told me they have sent, or a drying up of communication that I have received back when sending things. And yes mechanical and electrical things are breaking down during this period. The four wheel drive quit working in the car. The coffee maker cracked in several places and stopped working.

Yet i have observed reality has been acting very strangely around me. Sometimes I get this feeling I’m really in some kind of dream and my regular notions of reality are breaking down. Not that I’m having psychotic episodes, but rather my notions of reality are breaking down. When going to the store yesterday I spent almost an hour just attempting to get points resolved that were due to me for buying things. I told the representative that despite all her cliches about ‘sorry you are experiencing this, our computer system is down’  computer and electronic issues are common when Mercury goes retrograde. I thought it was unreasonable to make me wait on the phone a half hour and deal with this issue an hour. I was routed to a supervisor and the phone line wa eventually cut off completely. Never did get the points to use, but ended up at another store where I got a deal on an item.

Mercury is retrograde in Capricorn also so we have a communication slow down in most world affairs. Ukrainians are not getting more war relief. Israel and Gaza have not come to any peaceful resolution. Trumps criminal cases appear to be going to the Supreme Court. To name a few.

On a personal level, I’ve also been doing so much reflection - which is a mercury retrograde function - on all the times in my life I’ve had messages from the universe that have showed there  are forces beyond are limited awareness that ‘miraculously’ bend our sense of reality and consciousness,to show us just how much we are living in our own personal dream realities that are part of a larger dream weaved around us all.

This whole phenomena of Mercury Retrograde is leading me right back to my astrological interest in other planets Retrograde in natal charts, and slower planets Retrograde in transit. Mercury has so much to do with perception and it’s higher octave-Uranus-is also retrograde now. This is leaving us with a higher awareness, through introspection, just how much we are in a world a of confusing dream like images that we have been dream walking in and not recognizing the truth of our notions of reality.

I'm noticing a lot of spiritual pressure at this time- in my self and in others. Bullheadish-ness. But in the adversity I am finding there is an element to play with that would be beneficial if I can learn from it, as marring as it is upon my consciousness. And I say it that way, because I have an ego that is constantly being chastised in the process. And I am not always successful at navigating those moments of intensity when someone projects their anger into me. And there are real moments in my self I find disagreeable.

It would appear that many people at this time are considering the manner in which we communicate, experiencing deep introspection- and even contemplating things like an ascension process and interdimensional beings. I just saw a segment with Tucker Carlson coming out and saying he believes we're being influenced by interdimensional beings.

Though times can be tough, I feel it is an opportunity. And I think at some point we made an agreement to come here and struggle through the adversity in order to better understand God. At least, that's how I'm choosing to look at it. And God is giving us a great opportunity, and we can find an equally great appreciation for these retogrades... Even though they can be relatively unpleasant at times.

Considering consciousness is all there is, and we are a part of a greater being, I used to think these kind of moments were experienced en masse. Like, all the life that resides in this specific region of time and space are hit with celestial waves- planetary movements being a similar imagery where these functions serve the microcosm, a particular set of lessons/experiential wisdom. Whether that's true or not, I can say definitively I see others around me and online considering these particular dynamics at this time.

Jai gurus and thanks for bringing the gurus, spirit guides and angels into our presence on these rather introverted days which require introspection! The beginning of winter and Jupiter, Chiron, Mercury as well as Uranus are retrograde. Everything has even slowed down on the international level.

Right now we are two days past the solstice, which in Indian astrology, is basically the new year, however, similar to the concept of mercury “retro shade”, it has a warm up period… so the calendar new year starts about the time the day start getting longer more significantly..

Well Art you would know about communication. It has been changing so much for you in the recent several years. And the lingering affect of Pluto over your natal Mercury and it’s transformative impact is now manifesting in your communication with others. It ‘s nice to have you back with us Brother. It’s more difficult to rise above thought with the Sun so close to Mercury in the same sign.
