Title: Satsang with Amma 2013 Following Positive Qualities and Role Models: Amma Post by: Jitendra Hydonus on Jun 14, 2013 03:42 pm Amma mentioned in her satsang today that we look for role models in other people and we should watch who we are attracted to for positive or negative qualities to influence our own behavior.
How do we teach a child to live the best way they can live? (Some notes I took.) Before they are 10 years old they have learned the most important lessons of their lives.We can imprint an impression of our foot in a freshly layed floor of cement but it is difficult to change the cement after it is layed. Try not to quarrel. Try not to cause emotional wounds. Inculcate good values. Try to give them love. Spend time with them. They may not always speak in a way that makes sense to you. ( I put in my note, that it was interesting that she did not say call "Amma" ). ********** I seemed to notice a subtle change in some of Amma's threads of satsang this year... (versus 2 years ago). my impression is that she was stressing just a bit more, the path of meditation and also seems to be getting us all a bit prepared to tune to Her Divine Presence and to God all around -- beyond her physical incarnate form. I'm not reading anything into it, but I think this will be a natural progression as the Saint's body ages and incarnate time with us dwindles... ********** Amma told a story of a man who argued at the Airport to get a cheaper fare, he was not satisfied with the concessions he was getting and was rather greedy, he was so pleased that he had worked with them to get such a low fare, but when he came out of his negotiations, he found that he missed the flight. Amma was prompting us not to be like this in our spiritual path... (sorry, I'll have to meditate upon this and clarify her thought conveyed... but I jotted this down and it seems an important consideration). *********** Amma talked about "binding love" it is like "bait on a hook" -- we are trapping or catching... Don't use this method -- it only causes us and those we catch suffering... Amma prompts us to use "Liberating Love". *********** Namaste2All thanks for all wonderful memeories! Mother told the story about the man missing the plane at the airport to remind us not to miss our appointment with God and enlightenment. We often are spending our time in meaningless activities and without meditating and arguing away our time here on earth missing our flight connection and appointment with God and realization.
