"Boreas" by John William Waterhouse, 1903, oil on canvas ~ She must be feeling the presence of Boreas, Greek god of the North Wind, or perhaps sad thoughts or feelings are buffeting her....from Serena (http://i1092.photobucket.com/albums/i411/KikiDuvet/Boreas_zps9c1a3d81.jpg) Title: The Yellow Finger by Egor Satsov Post by: Jitendra Hydonus on Mar 12, 2013 08:39 am The Yellow Finger by Egor Sotsov
Like a classical little Snow Princess, but this feminine sprite seems made of sunlight. She's not quite connected to her body and the entire painting is in blue and gold, the colors of the Swedish flag. Who is she? For me she represents light, play, and unearthly freedom. Notice the tiny space of sky between her body and her head... she's not entirely "grounded. This painting was an an exhibition in honor of International Women's Day in West Hollywood, California on Sunday, March 10, 2013. Even the blue grey of her shawl fits in with those moods and the color of the sky and background. It seems like you have been in tune with colors, and the moods they convey in your last two pictures you gave us Serena. I think everyone can relate to having those moods sometime in their life. When those north winds (Boreas) hit in the midwest late October and early November you know whats ahead till spring. The painting sends a mixed message though. There can be beauty even in inclement conditions: as seen in the lone flower in her hair and the remaining flowers on the ground and the tree behind her. The artist combines romanticism (the picture of the woman) with a bit of Van Gough (the trees and sky in the background). Peek-a-boo... i see you. It's nice to have u around Serena. i have been practicing the song 'Fine Feathered Friends' with others and found a guitarist that plays in a bluegrass style that fits the song. He lives a distance from me and my recorder needs fixing but.... if i get it recorded i'll make sure you get a copy. Hope all is well with you. i often think of you. It is great to have friends that support us in our artistic expression. Otherwise our efforts would dry up. It would be nice to hear from you again. Some people really made California a unique place to be. Thanks Serena. Steve |
