Title: Gravity Post by: Serena Duvet on Mar 04, 2012 01:26 am Even slanted brooms stand up by themselves on "Gravity Day!" My friend in Texas told me she walked into a hardware store in yesterday and there were 4 or 5 brooms standing up by themselves and the old folks said they do that at this time of year. I decided to try it myself and took this shot. Those brooms are not leaning against that palm tree; they are free standing and doing so at a slant, even. I guess I'll know for sure whether or not it's a lot of hooey if I try to do this again in a few days and they won't stand up by themselves anymore. I have to say, though, I don't recall ever seeing brooms standing up on their own before!
