Title: Bhaktananda Proper Attitude
Post by: Jitendra Hydonus on Jan 10, 2012 04:02 am
Proper Attitude 3/4/86 YAG

Our happiness depends on this. Our reactions to circumstances.

See the brighter side of every situation.

A negative situation cannot ruin us.
A negative attitude can.

Work – accept it. Then it disappears in time.

Trials – will always be here.

Do not criticize or be negative.

Children need compliments and appreciation for being in the home.
Children are given a bad start when parents don’t give them good habits and discipline – things to do to be happy and secure.

Work strenuously for spiritual liberation: diligence.

Go over the SRF Lessons with a fine toothcomb – each sentence. Two pages a day.

Give five minutes dedicated time to each child. Explain the reasons when you give them rules of yes or no.

Everything we do or do not do will make us either happy or unhappy.

Personal Conversations With Steve – mid 1980’s

When you have to give a talk, take an 8 and ½ inch by 11 inch paper (blank) and make three equal columns. Start on the upper left, going down, put a few words, just several words. You can run your finger down the column to keep track of where you are. (This is how Brother Bhaktananda organized his lectures.)

About playing tennis:  “concentrate on the point, not on winning the game”

Stray Notes date unknown

Washing the face – visualize the lines gone, smooth skin, energy on face. Visualize energy there. We don’t have to look 60 or 70.

It is very difficult to express my gratitude enough for being in the presence of this man for quite a few years. It is interesting that some very elevated souls come to earth and play very humble roles. It is sometimes not till later that we recognize the incredible gift we have been given by being in their presence. Saints r often the most like God: Humble and not ostentatious. They truly are like God~Always giving blessings by their presence but seldom taking credit or notice of themselves.
