Title: Getting Somewhere? Post by: Jitendra Hydonus on Aug 31, 2011 08:23 pm Some of us think we r getting somewhere but we r not if we r getting experiences.
We can not tell how we r doing spiritually. Daya Mata was the most scolded but Master saw she could take it. Advancement does not mean spiritual experiences. It does not mean that we r necessarily advanced but rather we r being encouraged. U might even have experiences in samadhi or nirbikalpa samadhi but then fall again. Spiritual experiences r stored in the subconscious and bubble up. The body often looks younger in those who r making spiritual progress. "Perseverance is the majic that leads to spiritual success"~PY If we fall and make spiritual mistakes we r still moving forward. It is better to b a fallen yogi then a sense addict. It is O.K to b where we r as we make our efforts forward. Work towards being in a higher state. God uses the guru to help us. People fail because they give up. Do not affirm your mistakes. We r learning to b detached. We r judgemental about others because we r judgemental about ourselves. Affirm that we r going to the end.. (These words were based on a lecture by Brother Devananda.) Into Blue Title: Re: Getting Somewhere? Post by: Jitendra Hydonus on Sep 07, 2011 02:19 pm Thanks Steve, for sharing the words by Brother Devananda. Food for thought. Into Blue Yea Into Blue i have just noticed that there are people who are making progress in their attitudes and their ability to make life changes as they are thrust on us for our spiritual growth. Sometimes people have all kinds of spiritual experiences but there might not be comparable spiritual progress. Can the right hand watch the left on the spiritual path? Can we learn from life and have spiritual experiences at the same time? The ego manifests in very subtle ways that is what i have noticed. Spiritual phenomena and ego seem to sleep in the same bed. i think we have to have a lot of protection when we sleep in the same bed as with our phenomenal experiences. It seems that the former is much more important in the long term. J Title: Re: Getting Somewhere? Post by: yoshi on Sep 08, 2011 01:03 pm in response to Jitendras post above....
just as physical experiences are a part of the physical body we temporarily reside in..... spiritual experiences....are a part of 'who we Truly are'....spirit/souls. some share...not to 'brag' about them....but in hopes that others realize that we are 'not what we appear on the outside'. <<< that, is a HUGE Realization.... ;) once one Realizes this little factoid....it opens up a one-der-full 'door'....the 'ruby slippers' appear... <3<3<3 (((Love&Hugs&OM))) yoshi Title: Re: Getting Somewhere? What i imagine is what i can be and what i dream is still a figment of my imagination as well. There is no stone left unturned Yoshi. One can see very well if we see with loves eyes. Then we know where everything arises from. Everything else is a distraction when love arises. If it is part of these perceptions then it is meaningful. We have become fine tuned because of our interactions with others. In that interplay we find what we can drop from our own perceptions and what is worth holding on to, In this way we can truly be who we are. We were talking About the space between us all And the people who hide themselves Behind a wall of illusion And to see you're really only very small And life flows on within you and without you We were talking-about the love that's gone so cold and the people, Who gain the world and lose their soul- They don't know-they can't see-are you one of them? When you've seen beyond yourself-then you may find, peace of mind, Is waiting there- And the time will come when you see we're all one, and life flows on within you and without you. ~G Harrison |
