Title: Meditation Exercise
Post by: Jitendra Hydonus on Mar 11, 2011 04:34 am
By Paramahansa Yogananda

Sit upright, shoulder blades together, chest out, abdomen in, hands at the junction of thighs and abdomen. concentrate at the point between eyebrows, where one can enter the state of super consciousness. Forget the body, forget the surroundings, earth, sun, moon stars, thoughts feelings and forget all perceptions. Feel only one goal of perception--the vastness that you wish to perceive within yourself. Repeat to yourself: "I am infinite," Go on mentally affirming this until you feel that you are everything and beyond everything, Say: "I am timeless, I am spaceless, I am beyond the body, thought, and speech; beyond matter and mind. I am spaceless, I am Infinite Blessedness."

Meditate on that.

One of the monks gave this exercise at a morning meditation. it is taken from Lesson 100 SRF Lessons

Meditating is very effective and helps us in keeping our mind and body healthy and fresh. Wearing compression leggings helps me to meditate with more concentration as they are flexible, cozy and very comfortable.

Thanks for sending me back to this thread. I was recently trying to practice the meditation exercise above but could not remember the phrase; " I am infinite."

Regina I wore 'compression legging' while I had muscular inflammation and neuropathy challenges with my legs. A friend bought and gave them to me. I found they were helpful in alleviating some of the pain. I have never specifically associated them with meditation. Perhaps i should.

Hmmm they scratch my legs when I tried that brand. They were so uncomfortable all I could think about was getting them off and they ruined my meditation. I used them to start a campfire. That was the best use I could get out of them!
