Title: Planets Transiting the Ascendent Post by: Jitendra Hydonus on Jan 18, 2011 08:49 am Steve, What is the basic, general significance of a transit over one's Ascendant - regardless of any other planetary alignments ? What kind of planets coincide with great changes in one's reality? They are of two kinds, progressed planets and transits of the four planets of power (Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto). The passage of these planets over the angles (the ascendent is one of these angles) set off periods of delayed karma, the effects of which will continue to influence the remainder of the individuals life. At these times, the individual will notice several things happening. First, important persons will enter the native's life (especially if it is an angle on the horizon that is being touched off). The influence of these persons is very remarkable, for through association with them the individual finds it necessary to change his or her perception of reality, to relate to the world in a different manner, to see even one's own self from a different perspective. Perhaps one falls in love or breaks up an established relationship, perhaps one comes across a great teacher or brings the studies to a culmination in regards to someone else. Whatever the case, some other person enters into the realm of the individuals life in whose chart a progressed or heavy transiting planet is crossing an angle ( and often times those who have been in the individuals life for some time, suddenly fall out, i.e. death). On an esoteric level , these periods may also be viewed as times of initiation, even on Astral levels. This is particularly so when the transiting planet is Uranus, Neptune or Pluto, over an angle. In these instances it as if the individual suddenly "turns on", makes a complete reversal in outlook and activity. The changes are not only personal, but also physical, the individual actually begins to "look" different.
