Title: Is Meditation Natural?
Post by: Jitendra Hydonus on Jun 17, 2026 01:37 pm
I sometimes think this when I’m having challenges with my mind and body. But at times i do feel peaceful as  though Im making progress. I think a better question would be; is any thing natural? Is it natural to work all day? Is it natural to play an instrument? Is natural to always get along with a friend? Is it natural to exercise? Is it natural to build something?

To all these questions there is a certain amount of discipline and will power involved to get results. So I am satisfied giving time to each of them. Because I also know there is a sense of reward and experience that is satisfying with all worthwhile projects. There are times - however small or large they may be - that we do feel rewarded and accomplished in such tasks. We just have to keep at them daily without expectations of what we will gain at them.

Meditation and spiritual accomplishments i put at the top of my list for time and effort given to them. The reason being that it seems like the most important accomplishment of my life. Occasional break throughs remind me that what the Masters have said are the most important discoveries and realizations we have in life.

Amma has said over and over; “Meditation is more previous than gold.” And grace experienced  from spiritual practice is “like fragrant gold”. In any of these experiences we must remember that being with people that do them and have found benefit from such projects is the support we need and the ability we gain from support in continuous practice.
