TBH, it's not about being optimistic. I've been to China many times. They have every right to think of us the same way, as the USA are materialistic champions. The westernization of Shanghai is pitiful. It's ruined. It spilled over to many provinces. The people there have much to say about us, and I can't argue with any of it. But all this has nothing to do with leaders, and every country has them. Just like $ssholes.
