I usually reason, reason, and reason again when having to decide on such issues, trying to pick up the right sphere of thought.
I also do it in apparently negligible matters.
Notwithstanding the reasoning, I don't always pick the right sphere of thought. We need to remember that life is usually a humbling experience.
You have a strong philosophical bent dear friend. Your reasoned responses are often focused enough to bring a clearer understanding of the challenges at hand. The development of the mind seems all about philosophy. If we can get beyond our own reasoning and see it from a a distance then we can also bring our reasoning sphere to a new level. That is my take on it.
