You and me...we are dream characters. As I write this I imagine you reading it. That you that I imagine is a dream and vice versa.

Quote
There is no difference between dream and the waking state except that the dream is short and the waking long. Both are the result of the mind. Because the waking state is long, we imagine that it is our real state. But, as a matter of fact, our real state is what is sometimes call turiya or the fourth state which is always as it is and knows nothing of the three [waking dream or sleep]. - Sri Ramana Maharshi, Day by Day with Bhagavan, pg. 92

 Cool

The revealing dream i spoke of was helpful to the physical realm but not to waking up in the turiya state. One could only hope to wake in the turiya state! Once we get in touch with the turiya state...It may not even be important--these lessons we learn in the material and dream sleeping realms. Until then... if any assumptions be made... let us assume that we have much yet waking to do seeing the meaning of the words of Sri Ramana Maharshi!

We assume we've woken up
