Great thread and it has been lovely to read everyone's input.

I personally feel rather similarly to Anne about "the voice of God".  I do feel like the most Divine thoughts and words that come to some people are not as if someone is standing beside them saying "hey I'm God" but take place in the mind and perhaps in their very own voice.  After all, it is pretty outdated to believe that God is entirely separate from us when in fact She is always with us, and within us, in some way.  It is also easy for me to understand her idea too as I also feel the same way; that the actuality and pure wholeness of ((( OM ))) is too much for the mortal mind to adequately comprehend, but is translated into "human language" via manipulating and manifesting in the mortal thought centres.. this is why these "messages" will often be accompanied by some sort of strong physical sensation such as tingles or "energy" rushing throughout the body.  However, it is not necessary for everyone to understand this idea or agree with it.  As said in this thread, experiences differ from person to person.  It is okay to look up to others, e.g. saints, and to seek advice or guidance.. but it is utterly foolish to feel that someone else's path is the total one right path for you, and to base your spirituality off of somebody else.  It is an individual journey in the end, and we should allow for our experiences and search for truth to be as unique to us as *possible.
