Intereststs; Meditation/Spiritual Life

« on: Sep 13, 2026 08:58 pm »

Amma has said over and over; “Meditation is more precious than gold.” And grace experienced  from spiritual practice is “like fragrant gold”. In any of these experiences we must remember that being with people that do them and have found benefit from such projects is the support we need and the ability we gain from support in continuous practice.

I find there are times when meditation seems more natural. Such times often happen when we have had enough sleep. When it is comfortable outside and we find the right posture and are not detered by physical challenges. Or find a place inside where we feel peace and relaxed. It is also more helpful to not have flies gnats and little bugs or animals disturbing our meditation time.

I think another contributing factor is peace. We need to be at peace with ourselves to be at peace with the world. Quite often i have friends remind me that they can take only so much chaos from the political world and while I see ourselves at a critical juncture in history regarding the times we are facing; I still see it important to guard our minds from too much turmoil from the outside world that can stir up our meditations as well. I think this is one reason Amma created the ‘Flower Meditation’ for us and I practice it frequently.

There is also the factor of the company of other people around us. What kind of vibration does it lend to our well being and thus our daily meditatiions? How much time do we need alone? Sometimes nature is the best company.
